If I Don’t Grab Your Hand, I Won’t Have to Let Go

The wedding of Edward and Elizabeth has opened a vast rift between the House of York and the Earl of Warwick. The repurcussions continue at a later dinner party, where Richard meets the Duke of Buckingham. “Richard,” the duke says, “has it ever occurred to you? You, too, could become king…!” The advice throws Richard, but in his mind, the words of his father the Duke of York ring loudly: “Let my name live on…the name of the king.” Then, as Richard stands before his father’s portrait, the Earl of Warwick steps in.
