Ben asks Justin to tell the story at their next meeting, but the boy is too nervous, and Ben compares his uncertainty with that of the disciples when Jesus was arrested. Ben, Justin, and Marcus are captured during a raid on the Catacombs, so Ben comforts his frightened friends by telling of Peter’s fears when Jesus was taken before Caiaphas. Finally, Justin gets up the courage to tell the story of what happened when Caiphas sent Jesus to Pilate.
